April 1995. from that time of its inception till 17th Feb. 1999 Vianney Home

2. ADORATION SISTERS OF IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY, BERHAMPORE
History : Rt. Rev. Bp. Lucas Sirkar sdb
dd. started this congregation in 1986 with six candidates. He wanted to fulfill
a "great plan" proposed by late Bp. L.R. Morrow to Pope Pius XII and
approved by the Sacred congregation of the religious on 24.07.1945 and accepted
by the S. Congregation de Propaganda Fide on the following day to have a
Congregation of Sisters to come for perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
in church for public in the diocese of Krishnagar. Besides Perpetual Adoration,
the sisters of the Congregation would engage in works of assistance to the
aged, disabled, handicapped children and other assistential works in their
homes. They would be self-reliant in whatever would be needful for their own
living and maintenance.
Address Savio Bhavan
A long-cherished desire and dream of the former shepherds of Krishnagar was
fulfilled in 1986 when His Lordship Rt. Rev. Lucas Sirkar sdb, dd, founded the
Congregation of the "Adoration Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of
Mary" to fulfil the grave and genuine need for the spiritual awakening in
the diocese of Krishnagar. This religious institute was founded with six
candidates only but its great progress is obvious from the fact that today it
has 78 members living in four communities in Berhampore and Krishnagar. In a
world infected by sin and adhering to materialism, the members strive to bring
about a spiritual awakening through intense prayer life.
